Apart from the features the Netgear Orbi Router also provides the facility to users to access the settings easily. Before trying to log in, make sure your system or the Orbi App is properly connected to the home wifi.
Before proceeding to login steps, first, let us understand the different LED lights and their meanings
- Power LED
- Solid Green: Power On
- Solid Amber: Router/Satellite is rebooting
- Blinking Amber: Router? Satellite is resetting to default factory settings
- Blinking Red: Firmware Corrupted
- Router Ring LED
- Solid White: Router Booting
- When No Light: Router is operating normally and has finished booting
- Blinking White: Router Resetting to factory settings
- Blinking Amber: Router unable to connect to the internet
- Blinking Blue/Magenta: Internet Limit reached
Step 1: Ensure that you are properly connected to the Ethernet cable (RJ-45) from your modem or an existing router to the Orbi Router
Step 2: Now power On the Orbi router
Step 3: Press On button and wait for the LED to blink
Step 4: Check if the internet LED is still

There are many ways through which you can connect to the Orbi Network
1. Using the Netgear Orbi App
For this first, you need to download the Orbi app from the Google Play Store or Apple App store. This app shall make managing your Netgear Orbi Router very easily. This app also provides facility to manage additional devices such as satellites, run speed test, pause the internet and set up parental control
2. Using Web Browser
Another method includes the procedure the same as other routers. Open any local web browser on your system and visit the site orbilogin.net or you can also type the IP address: 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 which will open the default login page for your router. Here you will e asked to enter the username and password for your router. Generally, the login credentials are:
- Username:admin
- Password: password
If this method does not work, then clear the cache and try this method again.
How to change Orbi Wifi System admin login details?
Step 1: Open any web browser on your system and in the URL section type http://orbilogin.com
Step 2: Now you will be prompted with a login screen which will ask you to enter the username and password. Generally,
- Default Username:admin
- Default Password: password
Then click on the login
Step 3: As you hit the login button you will be redirected to the router’s dashboard where you can access settings of your router. Here first go to the Advanced, then click on Administration and then select Set Password option.
Enter the default password and then set your new password.
Tips to change your password:
- The password should be a mixture of alphanumeric characters which includes both numbers and alphabets along with some special characters.
- The length of the password should be from 8 to16 characters, complex yet easy to remember
- Username should be user-friendly and simple

Netgear Orbi Router Login and How to setup satellites?
Orbi satellite is an additional device that you can use to extend the Orbi router’s range. To set up a satellite, follow the below steps:
Step 1: Open any web browser on your system which is connected to Orbi router
Step 2: In the URL box, type orbilogin.com to open the default gateway of your router
Step 3: Enter the login credentials of your router:
- Default Username: username
- Default Password: password
Then click on the login
Step 4: Now you will be redirected to the admin login page, where you have to select Add Orbi Satellite. Now you will be displayed a “place your satellite” page
Step 5: In this page, follow the instructions to select the best place to set up your satellite
Step 6: Now connect the satellite to the power source and then press On/Off button
Step 7: Wait until the Satellite’s ring turns Solid White. After this, press the Sync button on the satellite so that white color blinks
Step 8: Click on the sync button on the web interface which will make the router to sync with the satellite
Step 9: Three colors: Blue, Amber, Magenta will be emitted by Satellite’s ring LED and then turn off
How to reset Orbi router?
For resetting the router to default settings you have to reset the router which is quite simple. Just press and hold the reset button for 15 seconds using a pointed object like a pin or a clip. After resetting, your settings will be restored to default.
- Firstly Power On the Orbi router
- Now take any sharp object like paper clip and press and hold the Reset button unless the Power LED blinks Amber. If you are trying to reset an add-on satellite then the ring LED shall blink amber
